Who thinks of rare and therefore strictly protected animals throughout Europe when they hear "Birkenfeld nightlife"? Probably hardly anyone...
A bat eats between 400 and 600 insects in one night - perhaps as many as there are people living in your village? It is neither a mouse nor a bird. You can find out more about this and other curiosities about these animals, which are particularly worthy of protection, on this excursion.
On the bat excursion, you can learn more about them together with the cert. National Park guide and NABU bat ambassador, Beate Thome, you can immerse yourself in the exciting world of bats.
Bats are difficult to discover on your own, but you can make their ultrasonic calls audible with a bat detector. You will experience the little nocturnal goblins in their breakneck flight acrobatics and learn exciting facts about the lives of these highly interesting survival specialists.
Important: If it rains, the bats will not fly and the walk will unfortunately be cancelled.
